Your Questions, Answered

What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is focused on helping your therapist get to know you and understand your goals for therapy. You’ll discuss what brings you in, your background, and what you hope to gain from counseling. This collaborative process is designed to help you feel comfortable and understood from the start.

How long are sessions, and how often will I meet with my therapist?

Most sessions last about 50 minutes and are typically held weekly or biweekly. The frequency will depend on your needs, goals, progress, and your therapist’s recommendations. You and your therapist will work together to find a schedule that supports your growth.

Do your therapists offer in-person appointments?

Not at this time. All of our therapists currently provide virtual counseling through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.

How do I schedule or reschedule an appointment?

You can schedule or reschedule an appointment through the client portal or by contacting our office. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling whenever possible.

How can I contact my therapist between sessions?

You may contact your therapist through the client portal or by email for non-urgent matters. Response times and communication policies may vary by therapist.

If you are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please call 911 or dial 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You may also contact the Crisis Text Line by texting HOME to 741741.

Do your therapists offer evening or weekend appointments?

Some of our therapists may offer a limited number of evening appointments. Availability varies by therapist, and weekend appointments may not always be available.

How do I choose the right therapist?

We’ll help connect you with a therapist based on your concerns, goals, scheduling needs, and preferences. You can also schedule a free 15-minute consultation to ask questions and determine whether a therapist feels like the right fit.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because appointment times are reserved specifically for each client, we require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice or missed without notice may be charged a $75 fee. Cancellation and missed-appointment fees are not covered by insurance.
